Tonja Sings "She's A Hero" at The Rock And Roll for Children Bash in Washington, DC
Saturday, November 6, 2010
Washington, DC

Tonja was honored to be a part of the annual Rock and Roll for Children Bash in Washington, DC at the Rock and Roll Hotel where she performed "She's a Hero"(Tay's Song).  Tay (Taylor Filorimo) was guest of honor at the event and is who the song "She's A Hero" was written about because of her dedication to reaching out to others in need as she fights her own battle with a rare form of cancer.

The event included a silent auction and concert with the line up for the evening included a who's who of performers such as Colin Hay (Men At Work), Rick Derringer (McCoys and Edgar and Johnny Winter bands), Mark Rivera (Billy Joel Band), Christine Ohlman (Saturday Night Live Band), Jeff Kazee (Bon Jovi Band), John Conte (David Bowie Band), Anton Figg (David Letterman Show Band), Neal Pawley (Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes), Chris Anderson (Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes).

The event was to support The Rock and Roll for Children Foundation which is committed to raising funds to assist a variety of charities focused on helping children in need and their families, many of these children having life-threatening medical conditions.  The foundation was started by Jon (pictured right) and Eileen Belinkie. The Belinkies started a signature ‘Rock and Roll Bash’ event to raise funds for a local children’s charity. Having four healthy daughters and spending their adult lives in the insurance business, they have been involved all too often in the tragic situation of a client with a sick child. That is why this effort to launch this charitable foundation is so close to their heart and in only a few years has raised over $500,000.
