Tonja Performs in Elkins, WV to Give Hope
Thursday, April 28, 2010
Elkins, WV

Tonja traveled to Elkins,WV to be a part of the first ever Michelle's Angels Hope Concert.  This concert was a benefit for the nearby community of Norton that has experienced a high rate of cancer over the last few years with as many as 40 patients of this tiny community being under some form of cancer treatment during a short period of time.

Tonja traveled with fellow songwriters and friends Rob Harris, Greg Johnson, Ken Harrell and the president of the Michelle's Angels Foundation, Herb Knoll. The songwriters performed in homes of those who were unable to get out, in the rooms of patients at the Cancer Care Center at Davis Memorial Hospital and for the employees there as well, to thank them for the job they do.  The trip was capped off with the "Hope Concert" to raise awareness and funds for those in need.  The event took place at Davis and Elkins College and was organized by Kynette Unite Methodist Church and hosted by local radio personality, Joe Danger.  The event included a silent auction of items donated by the community and was a huge success.

The entire group were honored to be a part of such a great cause and they were able to bring hope to all those in need and let everyone "know there is someone who cares", the MAF slogan.
